Our Team Logo:

Team Name: Grand Valley Three

Significance of Logo: We decided on this name because it is fitting to the fact we all attend “Grand Valley”. Also there are three of us. The logo includes a city like design because we love Grand Rapids and the downtown Grand Valley campus is our favorite! Then of course the letters represent all of our first initials.

Group Photos & Modifications:

Modification: Added Print/design to table and lamp
Location: Grand Valley State – Allendale Campus Library
Name of Statue: Ex Nihilo (Out of Nothing), Figure No. 8 by Frederick Hart
Details: The sculpture was “relatively unknown” so it was inspiring to hear that all the hard work paid off since the sculptor did eventually win a prestigious commission

Modification: Added word art of our team name, added filter
Location: Grand Valley State – Allendale Loutit Lecture Halls
Name of sculpture: Untitled fountain
Details: The meaning behind this structure is that “freshman can wash away all of the opinions they formed in high school and enter college with an open-mind that is willing to accept all of the theories our liberal university would like to throw at them”
Modification: Added more red vibrancy to the brick as well as a filter
Location: Grand Valley State – Allendale Loutit Lecture Halls
Name of Sculpture: Model of DNA
Details: This caught our eye when walking back from class. We all found simple but pleasing to look at – as well as informative
Modification: Changed Hue and Color Balance
Location: Padnos Hall of Science – GVSU
Sculpture: A brain
Details: Each of the names listed under this sculpture are of elite scholars and philosophers. It shows how much the brain is capable of and how it holds all of your knowledge. Really puts things into perspective.

Individual photo:

Modification: I inserted myself from another picture into this one, added filter
Location: Downtown Campus GVSU
Details: I choose to do this because I don’t have a picture of myself at one of my favorite places to relax and study at! Thought I would use my photoshop skills to insert myself.

Our Favorite Meme
We picked this meme because it’s humorous. It is illustrating the meme of Salt Bae the “Turkish Chef” sprinkling seasoning in a theatrical manner. Memes in general are important to our culture because they hold this sense of relatability. So regarding this meme, when we “sprinkle” something we may all think of this.

Research Meme :

Significance: I thought this was funny because as we were taking photos for our project, it seemed fitting.
Why it is important? This is something that can be relatable which is big in our culture. Memes are important because they can be used as conversation starters or just make you feel connected to the world in a relatable sense.

Overall Private Giving data from 2007-2017

This infographic was surprising to come across. I didn’t realize how much money was donated to the university. Then again we as students do give them a lot. But just seeing the amount of other donations each year that also play a big contribution was astonishing.
